Importance of Michelangelo

       Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni left a remarkable legacy of Italian Renaissance art. His nickname - il divino, the divine one - was an apt illustration of his exceptional gifts as a painter, sculptor, architect and engineer. At a young age, Michelangelo portrayed a diverse array of talent through his works. He was well known for his portrayal of the male nude body, which he perfected by examining classical art. He believed that the human body could depict all human emotions and expressions. In addition, he heightened the merit of painters and sculptors who were known as laborers at the time. His works of art hold a high place in society because they possessed utmost creativity and quality.

       He was well regarded for the three types of art – painting, sculpture, and architecture. In painting, he was the greatest painter of the nude male body. His perfection had a lasting impact on the theory of fine art as taught by academies in Europe. In addition, his understanding of space, form, and appearance when creating sculptures is truly remarkable. He was well known for portraying a variety of emotions in three-dimensional marble. Furthermore, his designs in architecture were also recognized due to the intricate layout of his buildings.
